"The Unfazed" - Dolorean
"Bad habits aren't hard to find . . ."
Yes, I played this not too long ago, but this is a different version and it's exactly what I wanted to hear here in my sleep-deprived state. Just finished penning an opening statement, hopefully bringing an end to a 17-hour day. Way too old for such things.
I should have played "Plastic Fantastic Lover" (except I kind of hate it) though for the Mitt man, who continues to outdo himself in the blind ambitions sweepstakes. I kept thinking that he would be the nominee -- despite his very real (or very fake) flaws, but now I am less sure. The Republicans are so batshit and Mitt is so, well, full of shit, that rejection of him seems more likely. I think Iowa will tell -- he will be tough to beat in New Hampshire and can, I think, shrug off a loss in South Carolina -- but if he loses two out of three, I think the bleeding will be tough to stop, depending, I suppose, on who is beating him. I still think he is their strongest candidate, although that may be the ultimate in faint praise.
Kevin Drum has a pretty good take on Willard:
Mitt Romney knows exactly who he is: he's a guy who wants to be president at any cost. If he has to pretend not to believe in global warming, then that's what he'll do. If he has to pretend to believe that the individual mandate is a sign of impending tyranny, then that's what he'll do. If he has to pretend that we can balance the budget with spending cuts alone, then that's what he'll do. If has to pretend to hate gay people, love guns, and believe that every blastocyst is a precious human life, then that's what he'll do.
Really, he gives ambition a bad name.
I'll probably be out of pocket all day tomorrow. Meeting clients at 8:00, then an all day hearing, and then race to grab a 7:00 PM flight. But share your wisdom and I will hopefully join in at some point.,
